Neurology

Neurology is that specialization of medicine that encompasses the diagnosis and the treatment of the disorders related to the entire nervous system, which includes the Brain, Spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system.

Some common Neurological Disorders:

  • Stroke:

A sudden disruption of blood flow to the brain, resulting in cell damage in the brain.

  • Migraine:

A neurological condition causing recurrent headaches, and is observed with other  symptoms like nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. 

  • Dementia:

Reduced cognitive abilities, like memory and thinking, which could be associated with chronic conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. 

  • Epilepsy:

It is severe disorder of recurrent seizures, resulting from abnormal electrical activity in the brain. 

  • Parkinson’s Disease:

A progressive neurodegenerative disorder that impacts movement, causes tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement. 

  • Multiple Sclerosis:

A chronic and progressive, condition that affects the brain and spinal cord, resulting in a range of symptoms such as muscle weakness, numbness, and vision problems.

  • Brain Tumours:
Growths in the brain, which may be benign or malignant.
  • Spinal Cord Injury:
At times a blunt image may damage the spinal cord below the site of an injury, thereby resulting in loss of function.
  • Peripheral Neuropathy:
Peripheral nerves damage, which may result in pain, numbness, and weakness in the impacted areas.
  • Headaches:
A common neurological condition of various types, which include migraines and tension headaches.
