Lipoma

A lipoma is a soft, non-cancerous lump made up of fat tissue that grows slowly beneath the skin. It’s usually painless, movable, and commonly found on the neck, shoulders, back, arms, or thighs. Lipomas are generally harmless and do not turn cancerous, but they may cause discomfort or cosmetic concerns depending on their size and location. Although the exact cause is unknown, genetics may play a role, and lipomas are more common in middle-aged adults.

Treatment is not always necessary unless the lipoma becomes painful, restricts movement, or grows rapidly. In such cases, lipoma removal surgery is a simple and safe procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia. The lump is carefully excised, and recurrence is rare. If you notice any unusual lumps on your body, it’s best to consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and management.
