Hip Replacement

Hip replacement surgery, medically referred to as hip arthroplasty, is an orthopedic procedure, wherein damaged or worn out parts, of the hip joint are replaced with artificial implants that is prosthetic components, to relieve pain and enhance mobility and function.
Hip Replacement is recommended for conditions like:
- Arthritis:
Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
- Avascular Necrosis:
Where the blood supply to the hip bone is interrupted, thereby causing bone damage.
- Hip Fractures:
When most methods do not aid the repair of severe fractures, Hip replacement is the recommended option.
- Hip Dysplasia:
When the hip socket doesn’t fully cover the ball, the condition is called Hip Dysplasia this leads to instability and pain.
- Other conditions:
Other conditions that damage the hip joint are, Femoroacetabular impingement, benign tumors, and certain cancers
The surgery involves replacing the ball (at the top of the femur) and/or the socket (in the pelvis) with prosthetic components.
